CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 2017


A big thank you to all our collectors!  Including contributions from Rushton and Loddington of £82 we raised a total of £717.39.  A good result.  On Saturday, October 28th the 60s Band will be giving a concert at Holy Trinity for Christian Aid.

THE MINISTRY OF HEALING

Our next Eucharist with the Ministry of Healing is on Saturday, August 19th at 10 am.  Prayer with the laying on of hands and anointing with oil is offered to all who desire healing for themselves and for others whose needs are on their hearts.

‘JOSEPH’ - SPECIAL FAMILY COMMUNION ON AUGUST 20TH


We shall share what we have been doing at our children’s holiday club from August 15th to 17th, telling the Old Testament story of Joseph in imaginative ways.  We hope the children who attended and their families will join us.


 


SUMMER PRAISE AT THORPE RESERVOIR


Sunday, August 20th


Once again Zandra & Johnnie Powell invite us to the lakeside for a service at 6 pm followed by a bring & share supper - please bring food and drink.  Those who wish can also enjoy a walk round the lake at 5 pm - no dogs please.  It is a beautiful and evocative setting.


 


SUNBEAMS TEDDY BEARS PICNIC


This takes place in the Vicarage Garden (in church if wet) on Thursday, August 24th at 2 pm.


All younger children and their families are warmly invited to attend.


UNITED BENEFICE COMMUNION

Sunday, August 27th at 10 am at St Mary’s Church, Pipewell.


Please note there will be no other morning services in the benefice.  That same morning there is an opportunity for those who wish to attend the Communion Service taking place at the Greenbelt Festival at Boughton House - more information from Ruth.

The Holy Trinity Trust presents the Irish Band ‘Sweet Molly.’  

Tickets £5 from Ann Chessum, Kim Foster, John Westwood, Zandra Powell and the Heritage Centre.  Light refreshments - bring your own drinks.

 

Saturday, September 16th at 7.30 pm:

The Virtuosi GUS Band presents the Last Night of the Proms.  Tickets £10 (children under 18 £5) from Heritage Centre or 07720 89735.

Charity Concert by Paul Bosworth Quintet.

 

COFFEE MORNING

At Holy Trinity on Saturday, September 2nd from 10 am.  Come and support our charity of the month.

 

PRAYER FOR THE TOWN

At the Salvation Army on Thursday, September 7th at 12 noon.   An opportunity to pray for the well-being of our community.

 

THORPE MALSOR ORGAN CONCERT

On Friday, September 8th at 7.30 pm enjoy an evening of light music and songs from the shows played by Norman Austin on the famous Thomas Casson organ.  Wine and nibbles.  Free admission - retiring collection.

 

 

RIDE & STRIDE

The annual event for the Northamptonshire Historic Churches Trust takes place on Saturday, September 9th.  We need stewards at Holy Trinity between 10 am and 4 pm - please sign up on the rota at the back of church.

BLESSING OF ANIMALS AT THORPE MALSOR

Bring your pets along to a special service on Sunday, September 17th at 3 pm.  There will be a speaker from Guide Dogs for the Blind. 

 

LODDINGTON HARVEST, FLOWER & CRAFT FESTIVAL

with Bake Off competition, raffle, tombola, cake & produce stall and refreshments.

Saturday 23rd September:

Festival open 11 am to 4 pm.  Quiz night in the village hall at 7 pm.

Sunday 24th September:

Festival open 11 am to 4 pm.  Songs of Praise at 4 pm.

Harvest gifts of all kinds will be gratefully received.

 

JUNIOR CONFIRMATION GROUP

Please will young people interested in preparing for Confirmation contact John or Ruth as soon as possible so that a new group can begin to meet next month.


 


 







 



 



 



 




WEEKDAY MORNING PRAYER

On weekdays John and Ruth would love members of the congregation to join them for Morning Prayer at 9 am in the Lady Chapel.  The service lasts 30 minutes and the days it is taking place are indicated in the weekly Pew News.  Please ask if you need to know the code for the side door.




TRINITY DISCOVERERS


Our group for children from 3 years upwards meets on the second Sunday of the month. Gather in church at 10.45 am. The aim of the Trinity Discoverers is to find out about Jesus through crafts, songs and activities. Come and enjoy!
