THE LACK OF HEATING

As you will know we are making plans to renew our heating system, but it will be a lengthy project. There will be some temporary heating but the advice is ‘wrap up warm’. When it is wintry the Sunday 8 am service will be held in the Lady Chapel.

UNITED BENEFICE COMMUNION AT ROTHWELL – DECEMBER 23RD

At the 10.00 am United Service on Sunday, December 23rd we shall celebrate the 70th birthday of Steve Heygate. He writes: ‘To celebrate this awesome rite of passage I would like to invite our church family of the Tresham benefice to have a piece of cake and a drink with me; all will be most welcome. There is no birthday cake as we couldn’t get a fire safety certificate for all the candles. Over the last six years you have all welcomed me into your church family so warmly so this is a little way of saying thank you. There is a strict and absolute ban on presents (but that does not apply to my biological family). I look forward to welcoming you all.’

UNITED BENEFICE COMMUNION AT PIPEWELL – DECEMBER 30TH

Please note there will be no service at Rothwell on Sunday, December 30th. Instead we will gather at our smallest church, St Mary’s Pipewell, at 10.00 am. Do ask if you need transport.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

A big thank you to all who filled shoe-boxes. A remarkable 83 boxes were given by our benefice churches in addition to those from Loddington School. Wonderful generosity...

THE HOLY TRINITY TRUST

The good news is that at our meeting on 12th November we were able to elect 8 new Trustees! We are very encouraged by the level of support. The new Chairman is Mike Stroud, the Secretary is Linda Saunders, and Bill Roberts continues as Treasurer. We pray tribute to the sterling efforts of Ann Chessum and Joan Taylor who have now stepped down as Chair and Secretary.

THANKS FOR OUR REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY WORSHIP

It was splendid to see such a great crowd at our 10.30 am Town Service to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War. Special thanks go to Jane Houghton (with assistance from the Heritage Centre) for the gallery portraits of the fallen and the drum altar, to Jean Daniels for the beautiful flower arrangement, and to our choir & bell-ringers.

About 10% of the population are Christians.
