Trinity Discoverers
Trinity Discoverers is a group for young children between the ages of 3 -13 The group has been set up to allow the children to discover more about the topics which the adults are learning about in church during the service. We follow the Roots on the Web publication which provides excellent teaching plans and resources.
We meet in church on the second Sunday of each month in the carpeted area which allows the parents to attend the church service if they so wish.
The group is welcomed into the church at the beginning of the service and feeds back to the congregation at the end in the form of a Show and Tell. We often share what we have created with the congregation and also display it on our pinboard in the children’s corner. Three leaders take various roles which rotate each week such as Open and Close, the Reading, and a fun craft activity.
We also help to organise 'Messy Church' sessions on a Saturday afternoon four times a year, around Christmas, Easter, Summer, and Harvest. We usually have over 50 people in attendance at various craft/activity stations with ages from a few months to parents and grandparents. We all enjoy the activities, stories, songs and snacks - and the church really comes alive!
